Kristina Perez began her career in education as a tutor and teaching assistant at the University of Minnesota where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and teaching certification. She later completed a Master of Arts in Applied Mathematics from Claremont Graduate University. Kristina is currently a program specialist in the Secondary Education Department of San Bernardino City Unified School District where she loves the opportunity to support high school teachers in using the District curriculum and trying new instructional strategies. Prior to that, she taught mathematics at San Bernardino High School. During her 20 years at SBCUSD, she has taught classes from Common Core Mathematics Project (CCMP) to AP Calculus. She is particularly passionate about helping students who struggle in math find joy and success in the subject.
