Damon Coleman, MA.Ed. joined San Bernardino City Unified School District in 2011. As Special Education Program Specialist, he serves as the primary Point of Contact for the Pacific Region Cluster in SBCUSD for both elementary and middle schools; leveraging district resources to provide individual school sites intensive technical assistance for effective implementation of special education programs. Mr. Coleman brings 21 years of experience in educational leadership and classroom instruction, in grades one through twelve. He also has a strong capacity for collaborative approaches to improvement, and an affinity for supporting both teachers and parents ability to identify and act upon student data to develop individualized educational programs that support student succeess. Prior to his position with SBCUSD, Mr. Coleman worked in the Non Public School setting holding a number of positions; Instructional Aide, Intern Teacher, Lead Teacher and Principal, at North Valley Schools. At the Non Public School the focus on student social skills, job skills, and strengthening critical reading skills were guiding principles . Mr. Coleman has a demonstrated history of being responsive to the diverse needs of teachers, students, and parents attending educational programs in SBCUSD.
